SON OF AN ISLAMIC CLERIC MURDERS STUDENT IN ILORIN

Abdulrahman Idi-Isin, son of an Islamic cleric has been arrested for the murder of one Lawal Hasfat Yetunde in Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to reports, on the 10th of February, 2025, Lawal Hafsat Yetunde, a final-year student at the Kwara State College of Education in Ilorin, went missing after attending a naming ceremony. Her parents reported her disappearance to the Oja Oba Police Station, and an investigation was launched.

The police tracked her last call to Abdulrahman Idi-Isin, who lived in the Ofa garage district area of Ilorin. When the police got to him, he initially denied knowledge of her whereabouts, but later confessed to the crime after a thorough search of his house with evidences found.

During a diligent search of his house, Hafsat’s dismembered body was found hidden in a bowl, along with the equipment used to dismember her. The suspect, reportedly the son of a well-known cleric, is now in police custody.

The Kwara State Police Command has been commended for their excellent work in unravelling the murder. Further investigation suggests that this may not be the suspect’s first offense, as disturbing evidence was found in his house. Some instruments found in his room included a flat table, cutlass and other butchering instruments.

During questioning, he claimed he hadn’t done it before that it was his first time claiming the lady had asthma and gave up in his room, not knowing what to do he had to dismember her…

The murder has sparked an outrage on social media eliciting different reactions from the general public.

On this incident, Yemmie Harkinola commented on Facebook “It is premeditated. When did he get that flat table, the cutlass and other instruments. The lady died Monday, That table is specially made if you look at it he should take them to the carpenter where he did buy the instruments and what date. They should go and verify the dates, it will debunk all his lies. They should also do DNA swapping of that room, there might have been other unfortunate victims that went unoticed. So sad.”
