From Ancient Myths to Scientific Truths: Throughout history, blood moon eclipses have captivated and terrified people, giving rise to myths and legends that sought to explain this mysterious event. The deep red color of the moon during a total lunar eclipse was often seen as a symbol of danger, change, or divine intervention. Many ancient cultures viewed it as an omen, signaling important earthly events.
In Norse mythology, it was believed that wolves, particularly Sköll and Hati, chased and devoured the moon, causing it to bleed red. This terrifying sight was seen as a sign of impending chaos and destruction. Similarly, the ancient Mesopotamians regarded lunar eclipses as dangerous omens for their rulers. They believed that demons were attacking the moon, and to protect their king, they would often place a substitute king on the throne temporarily until the threat passed.
The Mayans interpreted the blood moon as a cosmic jaguar attacking and devouring the moon. Rituals and offerings were made to protect the moon from harm and to restore balance in the heavens. These myths reflect how ancient people connected celestial events to their everyday lives and societal order.

In addition to pagan traditions, blood moon eclipses also influenced major world religions like Christianity and Islam. In Christianity, the blood moon is sometimes seen as a sign of the apocalypse, referenced in the Book of Joel and the Book of Revelation: “The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.” (Joel 2:31). In Islam, a lunar eclipse is seen as a reminder of God’s power and the coming Day of Judgment, with special prayers (Salat al-Khusuf) performed during the event.
However, modern science has demystified these ancient beliefs. Astronomers have discovered that a blood moon occurs when the Earth moves between the sun and the moon, and sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere bends and scatters, filtering out blue light and making the moon appear red. This natural phenomenon is now well understood, turning what was once a terrifying omen into a beautiful and predictable event.
No Gods, No Satan, No Devils, No Angels, only nature and humans in this world. Wake up.
